The Bega Valley Historical Society has extensive archive and research facilities. Material is available to support family history research, as well as information about local buildings, bridges, events, military history, floods and much more.

We are keen to support individuals in pursuing their own research or arrangements can be made for one of our researchers to do the work for you. If you would like further information about research or would like would like some help search your family history please contact the museum as per our details below.

The Bega Valley Historical Society Inc adopts the Australian Museum Policy for research, code of conduct & responsible research as guidelines for the research carried out at the Bega Pioneers’ Museum.

All research conducted for and on behalf of the Bega Valley Historical Society Inc remains the property of the Bega Valley Historical Society Inc.

All requests for research must be made by completing and submitting a Research Request form.

We charge a $25 fee and $10 per hour for basic search services;
photocopies 40c per copy. If you would prefer a DVD/CD we are happy to do this as well for a cost of $5 per disc.
